Description

A delectable twist on the traditional banoffee pie featuring rich dulce de leche, ripe bananas, and flaky puff pastry.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 sheet of puff pastry
  • 2 ripe bananas
  • 1 cup dulce de leche (or caramel sauce)
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts (e.g., walnuts or pecans)
  • Whipped cream (for serving)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Melt the butter in a skillet over medium heat, then add the chopped nuts and sauté until fragrant, about 3-5 minutes.
  3. Slice the ripe bananas into thin rounds and layer them in a baking dish.
  4. Pour the dulce de leche over the bananas, spreading it evenly.
  5. Unroll the puff pastry and cover the banana and dulce de leche layer, tucking in the edges.
  6. Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
  7. Allow to cool slightly before inverting onto a serving plate.
  8. Serve warm with whipped cream.

Notes

Use ripe bananas for the best flavor. You can substitute nuts or use a nut-free option as desired.
