Description

A hearty and flavorful chili recipe featuring ground beef, beans, and spices, perfect for family dinners or game day.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 pounds ground beef
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can (15 oz) kidney beans, drained
  • 1 can (15 oz) pinto beans, drained
  • 1 can (28 oz) crushed tomatoes
  • 2 tablespoons chili powder
  • 1 tablespoon cumin
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

Instructions

  1. In a large pot, heat olive oil over medium heat.
  2. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic; sauté until softened and fragrant, about 2-3 minutes.
  3. Add the ground beef to the pot, cooking until browned. Break it up with a spoon as it cooks to ensure even browning.
  4. Stir in the chili powder, cumin, paprika, salt, and pepper. Mix well until the spices are evenly distributed.
  5. Add the crushed tomatoes and drained beans to the pot, stirring to combine all ingredients.
  6. Bring to a simmer, then reduce the heat. Let the chili cook for at least 30 minutes, stirring occasionally to prevent sticking.
  7. Taste and adjust seasoning if necessary, adding more salt or spices as desired.
  8. Serve hot with your favorite toppings, such as shredded cheese, sour cream, or chopped green onions.

Notes

Quality beef helps reduce grease; customize heat with fresh chilies; freezes well for longer storage.
