Description
A hearty and flavorful chili recipe featuring ground beef, beans, and spices, perfect for family dinners or game day.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 pounds ground beef
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 can (15 oz) kidney beans, drained
- 1 can (15 oz) pinto beans, drained
- 1 can (28 oz) crushed tomatoes
- 2 tablespoons chili powder
- 1 tablespoon cumin
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
Instructions
- In a large pot, heat olive oil over medium heat.
- Add the chopped onion and minced garlic; sauté until softened and fragrant, about 2-3 minutes.
- Add the ground beef to the pot, cooking until browned. Break it up with a spoon as it cooks to ensure even browning.
- Stir in the chili powder, cumin, paprika, salt, and pepper. Mix well until the spices are evenly distributed.
- Add the crushed tomatoes and drained beans to the pot, stirring to combine all ingredients.
- Bring to a simmer, then reduce the heat. Let the chili cook for at least 30 minutes, stirring occasionally to prevent sticking.
- Taste and adjust seasoning if necessary, adding more salt or spices as desired.
- Serve hot with your favorite toppings, such as shredded cheese, sour cream, or chopped green onions.
Notes
Quality beef helps reduce grease; customize heat with fresh chilies; freezes well for longer storage.
