Description
Cozy comfort food featuring tender meatballs in a creamy, flavorful sauce.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1/2 lb ground pork
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
- 1 egg
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1/4 tsp nutmeg
- 1/4 tsp allspice
- 1/4 cup butter
- 2 cups beef broth
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 2 tbsp flour
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine ground beef, ground pork, breadcrumbs, milk, onion, egg, salt, pepper, nutmeg, and allspice. Mix until well combined.
- Form the mixture into small meatballs, about the size of a golf ball, and set them aside on a plate.
- In a large skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Cook the meatballs in batches until browned on all sides, approximately 5-7 minutes per batch. Remove them from the skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add flour and stir to create a roux. Gradually whisk in beef broth, soy sauce, and cream, cooking until thickened, about 5 minutes.
- Return the browned meatballs to the skillet and simmer in the sauce for 10-15 minutes until cooked through. Serve warm over egg noodles or mashed potatoes.
Notes
Serve with creamy mashed potatoes or warm egg noodles, and garnish with fresh parsley.
