Description

Cozy comfort food featuring tender meatballs in a creamy, flavorful sauce.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1/2 lb ground pork
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 tsp nutmeg
  • 1/4 tsp allspice
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp flour

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine ground beef, ground pork, breadcrumbs, milk, onion, egg, salt, pepper, nutmeg, and allspice. Mix until well combined.
  2. Form the mixture into small meatballs, about the size of a golf ball, and set them aside on a plate.
  3. In a large skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Cook the meatballs in batches until browned on all sides, approximately 5-7 minutes per batch. Remove them from the skillet and set aside.
  4. In the same skillet, add flour and stir to create a roux. Gradually whisk in beef broth, soy sauce, and cream, cooking until thickened, about 5 minutes.
  5. Return the browned meatballs to the skillet and simmer in the sauce for 10-15 minutes until cooked through. Serve warm over egg noodles or mashed potatoes.

Notes

Serve with creamy mashed potatoes or warm egg noodles, and garnish with fresh parsley.
