- 1/2 cup unsalted butter (room temperature)
- 1 cup brown sugar (packed)
- 1 large egg
- 3–4 medium ripe bananas (mashed)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup dark chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×5 loaf pan.
- Cream together the room temperature butter and brown sugar until smooth and fluffy.
- Mash the ripe bananas in a separate bowl and stir them into the butter-sugar mixture.
- Whisk in the large egg and vanilla extract until fully combined.
- Fold in the all-purpose flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt until just mixed.
- Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and bake for 55-65 minutes.
- Let the banana bread cool in the pan for at least 30 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
Notes
Serve warm with butter or honey. Wrap tightly to store for up to 3 days.
