Description

A stunning dessert that combines rich red velvet cake with a creamy cheesecake layer, topped with fresh strawberries.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tablespoons red food coloring
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream, whipped
  • 1 cup fresh strawberries, sliced

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9-inch round cake pan.
  2. Sift together the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt in a large bowl.
  3. Mix the oil, buttermilk, eggs, food coloring, and vanilla in another bowl. Combine the wet and dry ingredients.
  4. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 25-30 minutes. Allow to cool on a wire rack.
  5. Beat the softened cream cheese and powdered sugar until smooth. Fold in the whipped cream.
  6. Slice the cooled cake horizontally into two layers. Spread half of the cheesecake mixture on the bottom layer, place the top layer over it, then spread the remaining mixture on top and garnish with strawberries.
  7. Chill in the fridge for at least 2 hours before serving.

Notes

Serve with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream for an indulgent experience. Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
