Description
A delightful twist on the classic dessert, combining moist cake, fresh strawberries, and light whipped cream.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup milk
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 cups strawberries, hulled and sliced
- 1 cup heavy whipping cream
- 2 tablespoons powdered sugar
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
- Combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt in a large bowl. Add the softened butter, milk, eggs, and vanilla extract. Mix until smooth.
- Divide the batter evenly between the prepared pans. Bake for 25-30 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean. Cool for 10 minutes before removing.
- Whip the heavy cream with powdered sugar until stiff peaks form. Layer the cooled cakes with whipped cream and sliced strawberries. Serve chilled.
Notes
Using fresh strawberries enhances the flavor significantly. Ensure the heavy cream is cold before whipping for the best texture.
