Description
A delightful dessert featuring fluffy cake layers soaked in strawberry puree and topped with luscious whipped cream, perfect for any occasion.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 2 large eggs
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1 cup strawberry puree
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 2 tbsp powdered sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a cake pan to prevent sticking.
- In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Beat in the eggs one at a time, ensuring each one is fully incorporated.
- Combine the flour, baking powder, and salt in a separate bowl. Gradually add this dry mixture to the creamed butter and sugar, alternating with the milk. Stir until just combined, then gently fold in the strawberry puree.
- Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Let the cake cool completely on a wire rack.
- Whip the heavy cream with the powdered sugar and vanilla extract until soft peaks form.
- Slice the cooled cake in half horizontally. Spread a layer of whipped cream on the bottom layer, then place the top layer back on and top with more whipped cream and remaining strawberry puree.
- Chill the cake in the refrigerator for at least one hour before serving.
Notes
For best flavor, use fresh strawberries for the puree. Ensure eggs are at room temperature for optimal texture.
