Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup warm milk
- 2 teaspoons active dry yeast
- 4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 large egg
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons ground cinnamon
Instructions
- In a bowl, combine warm milk and active dry yeast. Let it sit for 5 minutes until frothy.
- In a large mixing bowl, mix together the all-purpose flour, sugar, and salt. Add the yeast mixture, melted butter, and egg, mixing until a dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Place the kneaded dough in a greased bowl, cover it, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
- Roll out the dough into a large circle. Spread softened butter on top, sprinkle with brown sugar and cinnamon, then fold the dough and cut into strips to create the star shape.
- Let the shaped dough rise for another 30 minutes. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
Notes
