Description

Classic comfort food with a saucy beef filling nestled in soft hamburger buns, perfect for any casual gathering.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 1 green bell pepper, diced
  • 1 cup ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 4 hamburger buns

Instructions

  1. Heat a large skillet over medium heat. Add the ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spatula. Drain excess fat.
  2. Add the diced onion and green bell pepper, cooking until tender, about 5 minutes.
  3. Stir in ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Mix well and simmer for about 10 minutes.
  4. Scoop portions of the Sloppy Joe mixture onto hamburger buns and serve hot.

Notes

Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container for up to 3 days. Reheat on low in a skillet, adding water if too thick.
