- 1 cup chocolate chips or colorful sprinkles (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt.
- In a separate bowl, cream together butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and vanilla until light and fluffy. Beat in the egg.
- Gradually blend the flour mixture into the butter mixture until just combined. Fold in chocolate chips or sprinkles if desired.
- Divide the dough into two logs, wrap in plastic wrap, and refrigerate for at least 2 hours.
- Slice the logs into 1/4-inch thick rounds and place on ungreased cookie sheets.
- Bake for 9 to 11 minutes or until the edges are golden.
- Let cookies cool on the sheet for a few minutes before transferring to wire racks.
