- 1 pound sirloin steak, cut into bite-sized pieces
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 cups beef broth
- 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch (optional for thickening)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh parsley for garnish
Instructions
- Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and sauté until translucent, about 4-5 minutes.
- Add the minced garlic and sauté for another minute until fragrant.
- Add the sirloin pieces and cook until browned on all sides, about 5-7 minutes.
- Pour in the beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, and soy sauce. Stir well and bring to a simmer.
- Cover, reduce heat to low, and cook for about 20 minutes.
- If desired, mix cornstarch with water to create a slurry, stir it into the mixture, and cook for additional minutes until thickened.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste before serving.
- Serve hot, garnished with fresh parsley.
Notes
Serve over mashed potatoes or rice to soak up the gravy. Can store leftovers in the refrigerator for 3 days or freeze for 2-3 months.
