- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1 large egg
- 2 tablespoons melted butter
- Butter or oil for cooking
Instructions
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- In another bowl, combine the buttermilk, egg, and melted butter.
- Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until just combined.
- Heat a pan or griddle over medium heat and add a little butter or oil for cooking.
- Pour 1/4 cup of batter onto the pan for each pancake, cooking until bubbles form on the surface.
- Flip and cook until golden brown on the other side.
Notes
Ensure baking powder and baking soda are fresh. Adjust batter thickness by adding more buttermilk or flour as needed. Allow the pan to heat fully before pouring in the batter.
