Description

A quick and satisfying weeknight meal combining Italian sausage and nutritious broccoli, perfect for families and busy evenings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 oz pasta (your choice)
  • 1 lb Italian sausage (sweet or spicy)
  • 2 cups broccoli florets
  • 3 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Grated Parmesan cheese (for serving)

Instructions

  1. Begin by cooking the pasta according to the package instructions. Once it’s cooked to al dente perfection, drain the pasta and set it aside.
  2. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the Italian sausage and cook until it’s browned, breaking it up with a spoon as it cooks to achieve small, bite-sized pieces.
  3. Toss in the broccoli florets and minced garlic, sautéing until the broccoli is tender and bright green – about 4-5 minutes.
  4. Stir in the cooked pasta, mixing well to ensure everything is coated. Season with red pepper flakes, salt, and pepper to taste. Let it cook together for a minute to warm through, then it’s ready to serve.

Notes

Serve warm topped with freshly grated Parmesan cheese. Pair with a side salad or garlic bread.
