- 1 cup almond flour
- 1 3/4 cups powdered sugar
- 3 large egg whites
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon water
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup granulated sugar (for caramel)
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Food coloring (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C).
- Sift together the almond flour and powdered sugar in a bowl. In a separate bowl, beat the egg whites until foamy, then gradually add in the granulated sugar until stiff peaks form.
- Fold the sifted almond mixture into the whipped egg whites carefully.
- Pipe small circles onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and let them sit for 30-60 minutes.
- Bake the macarons for 15-20 minutes until they are set.
- Cook the granulated sugar in a saucepan until it melts and turns golden, then slowly add the heavy cream while stirring.
- Pair macaron shells of similar size and fill them with caramel.

Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 5 days or freeze for up to 1 month.
