Description
A delightful fusion of sweetness and warmth, combining tart apples with a rich layer of salted caramel, all encased in a crumbly, buttery topping.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup rolled oats
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 4 cups peeled and sliced apples
- 1 cup caramel sauce
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Sea salt for topping
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13 inch baking pan to prevent sticking.
- In a large bowl, mix together the flour, oats, brown sugar, granulated sugar, softened butter, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg, baking powder, and baking soda until crumbly.
- Press 2/3 of the mixture firmly into the bottom of the prepared pan to create an even crust.
- In another bowl, toss the sliced apples with caramel sauce and vanilla extract until well coated. Spread the apple mixture evenly over the crust.
- Sprinkle the remaining crumble mixture generously over the apples.
- Bake in the preheated oven for about 30-35 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the apples are bubbly.
- Once cooled slightly, drizzle with additional caramel sauce and sprinkle with sea salt.
- Cut into bars and enjoy!
