Description

Elegant rose-shaped apple tarts made with sweet, tart apples and flaky puff pastry, perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 sheet puff pastry
  • 2 apples (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp)
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • Sugar (to taste)
  • Cinnamon (to taste)
  • Butter (melted, for brushing)
  • Powdered sugar (for dusting)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Roll out the puff pastry and cut it into 2-inch wide strips.
  2. Slice the apples thinly and soak in lemon water to prevent browning, then microwave for 1-2 minutes until slightly soft.
  3. Lay the apple slices along one edge of each puff pastry strip, overlapping them. Sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon.
  4. Fold the pastry over the apples to encase them, roll up to form a rose shape, and place in a greased muffin tin. Brush with melted butter and bake for 25-30 minutes until golden.
  5. Cool slightly and dust with powdered sugar before serving.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days. They can be frozen for a month if well wrapped.
