Description
Elegant rose-shaped apple tarts made with sweet, tart apples and flaky puff pastry, perfect for any occasion.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 sheet puff pastry
- 2 apples (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp)
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- Sugar (to taste)
- Cinnamon (to taste)
- Butter (melted, for brushing)
- Powdered sugar (for dusting)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Roll out the puff pastry and cut it into 2-inch wide strips.
- Slice the apples thinly and soak in lemon water to prevent browning, then microwave for 1-2 minutes until slightly soft.
- Lay the apple slices along one edge of each puff pastry strip, overlapping them. Sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon.
- Fold the pastry over the apples to encase them, roll up to form a rose shape, and place in a greased muffin tin. Brush with melted butter and bake for 25-30 minutes until golden.
- Cool slightly and dust with powdered sugar before serving.
Notes
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days. They can be frozen for a month if well wrapped.
