Description

Elegant rose-shaped apple tarts made with flaky puff pastry and sweet apple slices, perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 sheet of puff pastry
  • 2 apples (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp)
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • Sugar, for sprinkling
  • Cinnamon, for sprinkling
  • Melted butter, for brushing
  • Powdered sugar, for dusting

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Roll out the puff pastry and cut it into 2-inch-wide strips.
  3. Slice the apples thinly and soak in lemon juice mixed with water.
  4. Microwave the apple slices for 1-2 minutes to soften.
  5. Lay the apple slices along one edge of each pastry strip, overlapping for a rose effect.
  6. Sprinkle sugar and cinnamon over the apples.
  7. Fold the pastry over the apple slices and roll to form a rose shape.
  8. Place the tarts in a greased muffin tin and brush with melted butter.
  9. Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
  10. Dust with powdered sugar before serving.

Notes

Use fresh lemon juice to keep the apple slices bright. Experiment with different apple varieties and consider adding nuts or berries for variations.
