Description
Delightful Easter egg-shaped treats made from Rice Krispies, marshmallows, and chocolate.
Ingredients
Scale
- 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 1 package (10 oz) mini marshmallows
- 6 cups Rice Krispies cereal
- Chocolate for coating (milk or dark chocolate)
- Sprinkles or decorative edible toppings
Instructions
- In a large saucepan, melt 3 tablespoons of butter over low heat until completely melted.
- Add 1 package (10 oz) of mini marshmallows to the melted butter. Stir continuously until the marshmallows are fully melted and the mixture is smooth.
- Remove the saucepan from heat, and add 6 cups of Rice Krispies cereal. Gently mix until all the cereal is evenly coated with the marshmallow mixture.
- Once the mixture has cooled enough to handle (but is still warm), take small amounts and mold them into egg shapes. Place the shaped treats on a sheet of wax paper to set.
- Melt your choice of chocolate in a microwave or using a double boiler. Once melted, dip each Rice Krispies egg into the chocolate, ensuring it’s fully coated.
- Before the chocolate sets, sprinkle your decorative edible toppings or sprinkles over the coated treats for a festive touch.
- Allow the chocolate-coated eggs to cool completely until the chocolate hardens. Once cooled, they are ready to be enjoyed!
Notes
Store the treats in an airtight container at room temperature for up to one week. Avoid refrigerating to maintain chewiness.
