Description

A warm and comforting dessert made with tender apples and a crunchy, buttery topping, perfect for autumn gatherings.


Ingredients

  • 6 cups apples, peeled and sliced
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine the sliced apples with granulated sugar, cinnamon, and lemon juice; stir until well coated.
  3. Pour the seasoned apples into a greased baking dish, spreading them evenly.
  4. In another bowl, mix together the oats, flour, brown sugar, melted butter, and salt until crumbly.
  5. Sprinkle the oat mixture evenly over the apples and bake for 45 minutes, or until golden brown and tender.
  6. Allow to cool slightly before serving warm, optionally with vanilla ice cream.
