Description

A charming and vibrant dessert that’s perfect for any occasion, combining a tender cake with delicious frosting.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup milk
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • Pink food coloring
  • Frosting of choice

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
  2. Cream together the unsalted butter and sugar until light and fluffy, about 3-5 minutes.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, and stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, alternating with the milk, mixing until just incorporated.
  6. Add pink food coloring until you reach your desired shade, mixing gently.
  7. Pour the batter into the prepared pans and bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  8. Allow cooling in pans for about 10 minutes before removing to cool completely on a wire rack.
  9. Once cool, frost with your choice of frosting.

Notes

For best results, use room temperature ingredients and avoid overmixing the batter.
