Description

Festive cookies combining chocolate chips and peppermint for a delightful treat perfect for the holidays.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup crushed peppermint candies

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until smooth.
  3. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. In another bowl, combine the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add the flour mixture to the creamed mixture until just combined.
  5. Stir in the chocolate chips and crushed peppermint candies.
  6. Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto ungreased baking sheets, spacing them a few inches apart.
  7. Bake for 9-11 minutes, or until the edges are golden. Allow them to cool on the baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring to wire racks.

Notes

For a stronger mint flavor, consider using peppermint extract in place of some vanilla. Store in an airtight container for up to one week.
