- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup packed brown sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 3 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup crushed peppermint candies
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until smooth.
- Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
- In another bowl, combine the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add the flour mixture to the creamed mixture until just combined.
- Stir in the chocolate chips and crushed peppermint candies.
- Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto ungreased baking sheets, spacing them a few inches apart.
- Bake for 9-11 minutes, or until the edges are golden. Allow them to cool on the baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring to wire racks.
Notes
For a stronger mint flavor, consider using peppermint extract in place of some vanilla. Store in an airtight container for up to one week.
