- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup crushed peppermint candies
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, mix together the melted butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until smooth and glossy. Add eggs one at a time and stir in the vanilla extract.
- In another bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined. Fold in chocolate chips and crushed peppermint.
- Drop spoonfuls of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them 2 inches apart. Bake for 10-12 minutes until edges are set but centers are soft. Let cool before transferring to a wire rack.
Notes
Chill the dough for 30 minutes before baking to help maintain shape. Use fresh peppermint candies for best flavor.
