Description

A delightful twist on classic pecan pie, these bars feature a buttery crust and a gooey, nutty filling, perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 cup corn syrup
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup pecans, chopped

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×9-inch baking dish.
  2. In a bowl, mix together flour, butter, and granulated sugar until crumbly. Press evenly into the bottom of the baking dish to form the crust.
  3. Bake the crust for 15-20 minutes until lightly golden.
  4. In a saucepan over low heat, combine brown sugar, corn syrup, and butter. Stir until melted, then remove from heat and cool slightly.
  5. In a separate bowl, whisk together eggs, vanilla extract, and salt. Slowly add the cooled syrup mixture, mixing well. Stir in chopped pecans.
  6. Pour filling over pre-baked crust and bake for an additional 30-35 minutes until the filling is set. Let cool completely before cutting into squares.

Notes

For deeper flavor, toast pecans before adding. Store in an airtight container for up to 3 days at room temperature or refrigerate for up to a week.
