- 2 ¼ cups all-purpose flour
- ¾ cup lukewarm water
- 1 ⅛ teaspoons instant dry yeast
- 1 teaspoon honey

Instructions
- Activate the yeast by dissolving it in ¼ cup lukewarm water with honey, and let sit for 5 minutes until bubbly.
- Combine the flour and remaining lukewarm water in a large bowl, then add the yeast mixture and stir until combined.
- Sprinkle in the salt and mix gently without overworking the dough.
- Cover the bowl with a damp cloth and let the dough rise in a warm area for 45 minutes to an hour.
- Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).
- Transfer the risen dough to a floured baking sheet and score the top with a knife.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25 minutes, then reduce the temperature to 325°F (160°C) and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes.
- Cool the bread on a wire rack for at least 15 minutes before slicing.
Notes
Store leftover bread wrapped in foil or in a paper bag at room temperature. For longer storage, freeze for up to 3 months.
