Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb flank steak, sliced thinly
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon ginger, minced
- 2 green onions, chopped
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch (optional for thickening)
- Rice, for serving
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix the soy sauce and brown sugar until well combined.
- Heat the vegetable oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add the minced garlic and ginger, sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Add the sliced flank steak to the skillet and cook until browned, about 3-4 minutes.
- Stir the prepared soy sauce mixture into the skillet and cook for another 2-3 minutes. If you prefer a thicker sauce, sprinkle in cornstarch and stir until combined. Add chopped green onions and cook for another minute.
Notes
Slice the flank steak against the grain for maximum tenderness. Feel free to adjust the sweetness of the sauce to your liking. Consider vegetarian options or add chili flakes for extra spice.
