- 200g digestive biscuits
- 100g unsalted butter, melted
- 200g condensed milk
- 150g light brown sugar
- 100g golden syrup
- 200g dark chocolate, chopped
- Sea salt (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F) and grease a square baking tin (8×8 inches) with parchment paper.
- Crush the digestive biscuits into fine crumbs and combine with melted butter; press into the base of the prepared tin.
- Bake the biscuit base for about 10 minutes or until light golden, then let cool.
- For the caramel, combine condensed milk, brown sugar, and golden syrup in a saucepan. Heat gently, stirring continuously until thickened and deep caramel color, about 5–10 minutes.
- Pour the caramel over the baked biscuit base, spreading evenly.
- Chop and melt the dark chocolate, then pour it over the cooled caramel layer and spread it out evenly; optionally sprinkle with sea salt.
- Chill in the refrigerator for a few hours until fully set, then cut into squares and serve.
