Description

Meatballs and gravy is an iconic comfort food featuring perfectly seasoned meatballs and a rich, flavorful gravy.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup chopped parsley
  • 1 egg
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 can (15 oz) tomato sauce
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan cheese, chopped parsley, egg, minced garlic, salt, and pepper. Mix until well incorporated.
  3. Shape the mixture into meatballs (about 1 inch in diameter) and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake for 20 minutes until cooked through and lightly browned.
  4. In a large skillet, cook the chopped onion over medium heat until translucent, about 5 minutes.
  5. Add the tomato sauce, beef broth, and Italian seasoning to the skillet with the onions and bring it to a simmer.
  6. Once the meatballs are finished baking, transfer them to the skillet with the gravy and allow to simmer for an additional 10-15 minutes.

Notes

Use fresh herbs for the best flavor. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container for up to 3 days or frozen for up to 3 months.
