Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup glutinous rice flour
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup coconut milk
- 2 tablespoons matcha powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 cup water
- Oil for frying
- Powdered sugar for dusting (optional)
Instructions
- In a large bowl, mix together the glutinous rice flour, granulated sugar, coconut milk, matcha powder, baking powder, and salt until well combined.
- Gradually add the water to the dry mixture until the dough is smooth and pliable.
- Shape the dough into donut forms, being creative with sizes if you like!
- Heat oil in a deep-fryer or large pot to 350°F (175°C).
- Carefully fry the donuts in batches until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes per side.
- Remove them from the oil and drain on paper towels.
- Dust with powdered sugar before serving if desired.
Notes
Ensure your oil is at the right temperature for frying; too hot can burn the outside while leaving the inside raw. Use high-quality matcha powder for the best flavor.
