Description

Delight in the unique flavor of Matcha Mochi Donuts, where the chewy texture of mochi meets the rich, earthy tones of matcha.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup glutinous rice flour
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup coconut milk
  • 2 tablespoons matcha powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup water
  • Oil for frying
  • Powdered sugar for dusting (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix together the glutinous rice flour, granulated sugar, coconut milk, matcha powder, baking powder, and salt until well combined.
  2. Gradually add the water to the dry mixture until the dough is smooth and pliable.
  3. Shape the dough into donut forms, being creative with sizes if you like!
  4. Heat oil in a deep-fryer or large pot to 350°F (175°C).
  5. Carefully fry the donuts in batches until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes per side.
  6. Remove them from the oil and drain on paper towels.
  7. Dust with powdered sugar before serving if desired.

Notes

Ensure your oil is at the right temperature for frying; too hot can burn the outside while leaving the inside raw. Use high-quality matcha powder for the best flavor.
