Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Gather all your ingredients to ensure a smooth baking process.
- Mix together the flour, baking soda, and salt until well combined.
- Cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until the mixture is smooth and fluffy.
- Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until well mixed. Gradually blend the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined.
- Fold in the colorful sprinkles and chocolate chips if you’re using them.
- Divide the dough into halves and roll each portion into a log about 1-2 inches in diameter.
- Wrap each log in plastic wrap and chill in the refrigerator for about 1 hour.
- Slice the logs into cookies (about 1/4 inch thick) and place them on a prepared baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are golden brown.
- Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
