Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
- Sift together the almond flour and powdered sugar in a bowl.
- In another bowl, beat the egg whites until foamy, gradually adding the granulated sugar until stiff peaks form. Incorporate vanilla extract and food coloring if desired.
- Gently fold the sifted dry ingredients into the meringue mixture.
- Transfer the macaron batter to a piping bag and pipe small circles onto the prepared baking sheets.
- Let the macarons sit until a skin forms on the surface (30-60 minutes).
- Bake for 15-20 minutes, until the tops are firm. Allow to cool completely.
- Pair and fill the macarons with your desired filling and sandwich them together gently.
Notes
Store macarons in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days or in the fridge for up to a week. They can also be frozen for up to a month.
