Description

A delightful lemon tart featuring tangy lemon curd and colorful edible flowers, perfect for brightening any dessert table.


Ingredients

  • 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 large egg yolk
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup fresh lemon juice
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 3 large eggs
  • 2 large egg yolks
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, cubed
  • Edible flowers for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Combine flour, softened butter, powdered sugar, egg yolk, and salt in a bowl until a soft dough forms.
  3. Press the dough into a tart pan evenly and bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
  4. Whisk together lemon juice, granulated sugar, eggs, and egg yolks in another bowl.
  5. Cook the mixture over medium heat, stirring constantly, until it thickens (8-10 minutes).
  6. Remove from heat and stir in cubed butter until smooth.
  7. Pour the lemon curd into the baked tart shell and chill for about 2 hours until set.
  8. Decorate with edible flowers just before serving.

Notes

Store the tart in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Add edible flowers before serving for best appearance.
