Description

A delightful dessert that balances the sweetness of brown sugar with the tangy freshness of lemon, featuring a soft, chewy texture and a burst of citrus flavor.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 2 cups brown sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 teaspoons lemon zest
  • 1/4 cup lemon juice
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • Powdered sugar for dusting

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
  2. Melt the butter in a large bowl. Then, mix in the brown sugar until smooth.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla, lemon zest, and lemon juice.
  4. Whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt in another bowl. Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet mixture until well combined.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish and spread evenly. Bake for 25-30 minutes until the edges are golden brown and a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  6. Allow to cool in the pan, then dust with powdered sugar before serving.

Notes

Serve with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream. Can also be paired with fresh berries.
