Description

Delicate Italian Macarons with a crisp exterior and chewy interior, perfect for special occasions or a sweet indulgence.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 200g powdered sugar
  • 100g almond flour
  • 75g egg whites (aged)
  • 30g granulated sugar
  • Filling of your choice (chocolate, pistachio, lemon, raspberry)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 150°C (300°F).
  2. Sift together 200g of powdered sugar and 100g of almond flour.
  3. Whip the aged egg whites until foamy; gradually add 30g of granulated sugar.
  4. Fold the sifted dry ingredients into the meringue.
  5. Transfer the batter into a piping bag and pipe small circles onto a baking sheet.
  6. Let the piped macarons sit at room temperature for about 30 minutes.
  7. Bake for 12-15 minutes until they have formed a “foot.”
  8. Cool completely on the baking sheet before filling them.

Notes

Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to a week or freeze for longer storage.
