Description

Delightful little bites combining the earthiness of mushrooms with creamy cheese in a flaky pastry shell, perfect for any gathering.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 package puff pastry
  • 1 cup finely chopped mushrooms
  • 1/2 cup cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh thyme
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 egg, beaten (for brushing)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Let the puff pastry rest before rolling it out.
  2. Melt butter or olive oil in a skillet over medium heat, add onion and garlic, and sauté until translucent (3-5 minutes).
  3. Add chopped mushrooms, cooking until soft and moisture is released (5-7 minutes). Season with salt and pepper, then let cool.
  4. Mix sautéed mushrooms with cream cheese, Parmesan, and thyme in a bowl until well combined.
  5. Roll out puff pastry and cut into 3-inch squares, placing them in a greased mini muffin tin. Fill each with the mushroom mixture and brush edges with beaten egg.
  6. Bake for 15-20 minutes until golden brown and puffed. Cool slightly before serving.

Notes

Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 3-4 days. Can be reheated in the oven.
