- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 2 tablespoons yogurt
- 3/4 cup warm water
- 2 tablespoons olive oil or melted butter (optional for brushing)
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, salt, and baking powder.
- Add yogurt to the dry ingredients and gradually mix in warm water until a rough dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for 5-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Place the kneaded dough in a greased bowl, cover it, and let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour.
- Preheat a skillet or tandoor over medium-high heat. Divide the dough and roll each portion into an oval shape, about 1/4 inch thick.
- Brush rolled naan with olive oil or melted butter, if desired, then cook for 2-3 minutes on each side until puffed and lightly browned.
- Serve warm and enjoy!
