Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until frothy.
- Add flour and salt to the yeast mixture. Stir until combined, then knead the dough until smooth and elastic, about 8-10 minutes.
- Allow the dough to rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until it has doubled in size.
- Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C) and bring a large pot of water to a boil. Divide the dough into equal pieces and shape them into bagels. Boil each bagel for about 1-2 minutes on each side.
- Brush the bagels with egg wash and sprinkle your favorite toppings. Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
- Allow the bagels to cool before serving.
