Description
A lighter spin on the classic sesame chicken that marries health and flavor, perfect for weeknight dinners.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb boneless chicken breast, cut into bite-sized pieces
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup
- 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon ginger, grated
- 1 tablespoon sesame seeds
- 2 green onions, sliced for garnish
- Cooked rice or quinoa for serving
Instructions
- In a bowl, combine soy sauce, sesame oil, honey, rice vinegar, minced garlic, and grated ginger. Mix well until fully combined.
- Add the chicken pieces to the marinade, ensuring they are well-coated. Allow to marinate for at least 30 minutes.
- Heat a non-stick skillet over medium-high heat. Add the marinated chicken, reserving the marinade, and cook until browned and fully cooked through, about 5-7 minutes.
- Pour the remaining marinade into the skillet and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until it thickens slightly. Sprinkle sesame seeds over the top and garnish with green onions. Serve hot over cooked rice or quinoa.
Notes
For best flavor, marinate overnight. Use a non-stick skillet for easier cleanup.
