Description

A delightful twist on the classic Rice Krispie Treats, made healthier with natural ingredients and add-ins for extra nutrition.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 cups rice cereal
  • 1/2 cup peanut butter or nut butter of choice
  • 1/4 cup honey or maple syrup
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt
  • Optional: add-ins like chocolate chips, dried fruit, or nuts

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine the rice cereal and any add-ins like chocolate chips, dried fruit, or nuts if using.
  2. In a saucepan over low heat, melt the peanut butter and honey (or maple syrup) together, stirring until smooth.
  3. Remove the saucepan from heat and stir in the vanilla extract and a pinch of salt.
  4. Pour the mixture over the rice cereal and mix until everything is well coated.
  5. Transfer the mixture into a greased 9×9 inch pan and firmly press it down to create an even layer.
  6. Let the mixture cool and set before cutting into squares, approximately 30 minutes at room temperature or in the fridge.

Notes
