Description
An indulgent dessert combining buttery richness with nutty crunch, featuring a soft, gooey center and a deliciously crisp crust.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup butter, softened
- 2 cups sugar
- 4 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup chopped pecans
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup powdered sugar
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9×13 inch baking pan.
- Cream together the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then stir in the vanilla extract.
- Combine the flour, baking powder, and salt in another bowl. Gradually fold this dry mixture into the creamed mixture, being careful not to overmix, then gently incorporate the chopped pecans.
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan and spread evenly. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Dust the cooled cake with powdered sugar before slicing and serving.
Notes
For a richer flavor, try using half brown sugar and half granulated sugar, or add cocoa powder for a chocolate variation.
