Description

A delightful giant cinnamon roll cake that combines the comforting flavors of cinnamon and sugar in a fluffy cake, perfect for breakfast, brunch, or dessert.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 packet (2 1/4 teaspoons) active dry yeast
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar (for icing)
  • 2 tablespoons milk (for icing)

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine warm milk and yeast. Stir until the yeast is dissolved.
  2. Add sugar, softened butter, eggs, vanilla extract, and salt to the yeast mixture. Gradually incorporate the all-purpose flour until a smooth dough forms. Knead the dough for 5-7 minutes on a lightly floured surface until soft and elastic.
  3. Place the kneaded dough in a lightly greased bowl. Cover it with a clean kitchen towel and let rise in a warm place until doubled in size, about 1 hour.
  4. Once risen, roll out the dough into a large rectangle on a floured surface. Spread softened butter evenly over the surface. Sprinkle brown sugar and ground cinnamon on top. Roll the dough tightly into a log and place seam side down in a greased cake pan.
  5. Let the rolled dough rise again in the pan for another 30 minutes until it puffs up.
  6. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake the cake for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown and a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  7. For the icing, mix powdered sugar and milk until smooth. Once the cake has cooled slightly, drizzle the icing over the warm cake before serving.

Notes

Best served warm; can be stored in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days.
