- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon almond extract
- Green food coloring
- Royal icing (for decorating)
- Sprinkles (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.
- Cream the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy. Add the egg, vanilla extract, and almond extract; mix thoroughly.
- Gradually add the flour mixture to form a dough. Divide the dough and color one part with green food coloring.
- Roll out the green dough to 1/4-inch thickness and cut out tree shapes. Bake for 8-10 minutes.
- Once cooled, decorate with royal icing and sprinkles.
Notes
Store in an airtight container for up to one week. Freeze undecorated cookies for up to three months.
