Description

Crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, this fried chicken recipe is perfect for gatherings or cozy dinners.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 pieces of chicken
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • Oil for frying

Instructions

  1. Begin by marinating the chicken in buttermilk for at least 2 hours or up to overnight in the fridge.
  2. In a bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, paprika, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper.
  3. Remove the chicken pieces from the buttermilk and dredge each piece in the flour mixture.
  4. Heat oil in a deep skillet to 350°F (175°C) and fry the chicken pieces for 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
  5. Once cooked, let it drain on paper towels to absorb excess oil.

Notes

For extra crunch, double dredge your chicken. Use a thermometer to monitor oil temperature.
