- 1 sheet puff pastry
- 2 large onions, thinly sliced
- 8 oz mushrooms, sliced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tbsp butter
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp fresh thyme
- Salt, to taste
- Pepper, to taste
- 1 cup Gruyère cheese, shredded
- 1 beaten egg, for brushing
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Melt butter and olive oil in a skillet over medium heat, add sliced onions, and cook until caramelized, about 15-20 minutes.
- Add sliced mushrooms, garlic, thyme, salt, and pepper; cook until mushrooms are tender, about 5-7 minutes.
- Roll out the puff pastry on a baking sheet lined with parchment, spread the onion and mushroom mixture on it, and sprinkle cheese over the top.
- Fold the pastry edges slightly inward, brush with beaten egg, and bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden.
Notes
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat in the oven to restore crispiness.
