Description

A delightful fusion dish that combines the savory flavors of French onion soup with creamy pasta for a comforting meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 oz pasta
  • 2 cups onions, thinly sliced
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 cup grated Gruyère cheese
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Cook the pasta according to package instructions; drain and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the onions and cook until caramelized, about 15-20 minutes.
  3. Stir in the minced garlic and cook for another minute until fragrant.
  4. Pour in the beef broth and simmer for 5 minutes. Then, add the heavy cream and Gruyère cheese, stirring until the cheese is melted and the sauce is creamy.
  5. Mix in the cooked pasta, ensuring it’s well coated with the sauce.
  6. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  7. Serve hot, garnished with fresh parsley.

Notes

For a vegetarian option, substitute beef broth with vegetable broth. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
