Description

Delightful twist on classic cookies, combining eggnog flavors with cinnamon-sugar goodness. Perfect for holiday gatherings!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup eggnog
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • Extra granulated sugar for coating
  • Ground cinnamon for coating

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and gather all your ingredients.
  2. Cream together the softened butter and sugar in a large bowl until light and fluffy.
  3. Add in the eggnog and vanilla extract, mixing until smoothly incorporated.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, nutmeg, cinnamon, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet ingredients, stirring gently to combine.
  6. Prepare the coating by mixing extra sugar and ground cinnamon in a small bowl.
  7. Scoop tablespoon-sized dough amounts, roll into balls, and coat in the sugar-cinnamon mixture.
  8. Space the dough balls on a parchment-lined baking sheet and bake for 12-15 minutes, until edges are light golden brown.
  9. Let cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to wire racks.

Notes

Store in an airtight container for up to one week or freeze for up to three months. Chilling the dough helps maintain shape while baking. Substitute nutmeg with allspice or pumpkin pie spice if desired.
