Description

A delightful Italian dessert that balances creamy sweetness with fresh berries, perfect for impressing guests.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 2 teaspoons gelatin powder
  • 3 tablespoons cold water
  • Fresh berries (e.g., strawberries, blueberries, raspberries) for topping

Instructions

  1. In a saucepan, heat the heavy cream and sugar over medium heat until the sugar dissolves.
  2. Stir in the vanilla extract once the mixture is smooth.
  3. In a small bowl, sprinkle the gelatin over the cold water and let it sit for 5 minutes to bloom.
  4. Once the cream mixture is warm, remove it from heat and whisk in the bloomed gelatin until completely dissolved.
  5. Pour the mixture into molds or cups and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or until set.
  6. To serve, run a knife around the edges of the panna cotta and invert onto a plate or serve in the cups.
  7. Top with fresh berries before serving.

Notes

For a richer flavor, substitute some heavy cream with whole milk or flavored creams. Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
