Description
Soft, fluffy rolls filled with sweet maple syrup, brown sugar, and crunchy pecans—perfect for Thanksgiving breakfast.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 package active dry yeast
- 1 cup warm milk
- 1/3 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup melted butter
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 large egg
- 4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup chopped pecans
- 1/2 cup maple syrup
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Instructions
- In a bowl, dissolve the yeast in warm milk and let it sit for 5 minutes until frothy.
- Mix in sugar, melted butter, vanilla extract, and egg into the yeast mixture until well combined.
- Gradually add flour and salt, mixing continuously until a dough starts to form.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Place the kneaded dough in a greased bowl, cover with a towel, and let it rise in a warm place until doubled in size (about 1 hour).
- Punch down the dough to release air, roll it out into a rectangle, and spread a mixture of brown sugar, cinnamon, and chopped pecans evenly over it, drizzling with maple syrup.
- Roll tightly from one edge into a log and cut into 1-inch thick slices.
- Place rolls on a greased baking tray, cover with a towel, and let rise again for 30 minutes.
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
- Drizzle with additional maple syrup before serving.
Notes
For best results, ensure the milk is warm, use fresh yeast, and measure flour accurately. You can prepare the rolls ahead of time and refrigerate overnight.
