- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 3 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 teaspoons cream of tartar
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar (for rolling)
- 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon (for rolling)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter and sugar until smooth.
- Beat in the eggs one at a time, stirring in the vanilla extract.
- In a separate bowl, combine the flour, cream of tartar, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add this dry mixture to the creamed butter mixture, stirring until fully combined.
- In a small bowl, mix the 1/4 cup granulated sugar and 2 teaspoons of ground cinnamon for rolling.
- Roll the dough into balls, and then roll each ball in the cinnamon-sugar mixture until well-coated.
- Place the coated dough balls onto ungreased baking sheets and flatten them slightly.
- Bake for 8 to 10 minutes or until the edges are lightly browned.
- Let the cookies cool on wire racks before enjoying!
