Description

A simple and delicious loaf infused with beef broth, perfect for sandwiches or as a side for soups.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons active dry yeast
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder (optional)

Instructions

  1. Combine the flour, sugar, salt, and garlic powder in a large bowl.
  2. Mix the warm beef broth with yeast and let sit for 5 minutes until frothy.
  3. Add the yeast mixture and olive oil to the dry ingredients; stir until a dough forms.
  4. Knead the dough on a floured surface for 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  5. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise in a warm spot for about 1 hour.
  6. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and shape the risen dough into a loaf.
  7. Allow the loaf to rise again for 30 minutes, covered.
  8. Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown and sounds hollow when tapped.
  9. Cool in the pan for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes

For a richer flavor, brush the top of the loaf with melted butter after baking. Experiment with dried herbs for added flavor.
