- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 teaspoons active dry yeast
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder (optional)
Instructions
- Combine the flour, sugar, salt, and garlic powder in a large bowl.
- Mix the warm beef broth with yeast and let sit for 5 minutes until frothy.
- Add the yeast mixture and olive oil to the dry ingredients; stir until a dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise in a warm spot for about 1 hour.
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and shape the risen dough into a loaf.
- Allow the loaf to rise again for 30 minutes, covered.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown and sounds hollow when tapped.
- Cool in the pan for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
Notes
For a richer flavor, brush the top of the loaf with melted butter after baking. Experiment with dried herbs for added flavor.
