- 8 oz dark chocolate, chopped
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 4 large eggs
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 tsp baking powder
- Pinch of salt
- Cocoa powder for dusting
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a cake pan thoroughly.
- In a saucepan, heat the heavy cream over medium heat until just simmering. Remove from heat and add the chopped chocolate and butter, stirring until smooth.
- In a mixing bowl, whisk the eggs with granulated sugar until light and fluffy. Add the melted chocolate mixture and vanilla extract, stirring to combine.
- In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and a pinch of salt. Gradually fold into the wet ingredients.
- Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack and let it cool completely. Dust with cocoa powder before serving.
